Participating cities
Let's be straight about the map you're looking at: no city participates in the Paper Penny program yet.
Each pin has one of three statuses, which we follow:
- Proposed pilot: A city where a pilot has been proposed and is being worked toward. There is one: Owen Sound, Ontario. Proposed means proposed. No council vote, no print run, no participating store. Not yet.
- Exploring: A city where real conversations are happening with real people who could make it happen. Today, there are none. When there are, they'll appear here.
- Vision: A town shown to illustrate what the network could become. Nobody in these towns has agreed to anything. They're on the map because they're neighbours of the proposed pilot, and a penny network only makes sense when you can picture the next town over.
A pin only moves up a status when the facts change, not because we want it to.
The cities
The proposed pilot city. A Paper Penny pilot has been proposed for Owen Sound and is being worked toward: no print run, no participating stores, and no city approval yet. This pin is a proposal, stated honestly.
